Google Keyword Planner Tool

Google Keyword Planner is a free tool that helps you find keywords for your Google Ads campaigns. It can help you discover new keywords related to your business. See how often certain words are searched, and get bid estimates for each keyword. You can also use it to create and save your keyword plan, and then launch your campaign. You can access Google Keyword Planner by going to [Google Ads] and selecting Keyword Planner in the tools menu.

How do I use Google Keyword Planner?

To use Google Keyword Planner, you need to follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Set up a Google Ads account. You can create one for free by going to [Google Ads] and following the prompts. You don’t need to run an active campaign to use the Keyword Planner, but you do need to set up an account.
  • Step 2: Access Google Keyword Planner. Once you log in to your Google Ads account, click on the wrench icon in the toolbar at the top of the page. Then, choose “Keyword Planner” in the tools menu.
  • Step 3: Choose your tool. There are two main tools inside of the Keyword Planner: “Discover new keywords” and “Get search volume and forecasts”. The first one helps you find new keywords related to your business, and the second one helps you estimate how many clicks and impressions you can get for a list of keywords.
  • Step 4: Enter your keywords or URL. Depending on which tool you choose. You can either enter one or more keywords that describe your business. Or a URL of a webpage or a website related to your business. The Keyword Planner will then generate a list of keyword ideas or forecasts based on your input.
  • Step 5: Filter and sort the results. You can use various filters and options to narrow down your results and find the best keywords for your goals. For example, you can filter by location, language, date range, keyword text, competition level, average monthly searches, top-of-page bids, and more. You can also sort the results by relevance, keyword, average monthly searches, competition, top-of-page bid (low range), top-of-page bid (high range), ad impression share, or account status.
  • Step 6: Analyze the keyword ideas or forecasts. You can see various metrics and insights for each keyword idea or forecast. Such as search volume trends, keyword difficulty, cost per click, click-through rate, conversion rate, and more. You can also see how your keywords perform on different devices and platforms.
  • Step 7: Choose a keyword or save your plan. After you find the keywords that suit your needs. You can either choose one or more keywords to use in your campaigns or save your entire keyword plan for later use. You can also export your results to a CSV file or Google Sheets for further analysis.
