The amount of the Golden State Teacher Grant is up to $20,000 for students who meet the eligibility criteria and agree to the service requirement. The grant is disbursed in two equal payments of $10,000. Each, one in the fall term and one in the spring term.

The grant is non-renewable. However, students can apply for it each year they are enrolled in an approved program. The grant does not need to be repaid. If the service obligation is fulfilled, otherwise. A partial or full repayment may be required.

As defined by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC). You can find the lists of priority schools and preschool programs for each academic year on the CSAC website. If your school is on both lists, then it is eligible for GSTG.
